Kolby, Tati and I headed over to Matsushima on 9 November. We had heard that next the shrine there, they lit up the gardens with beautiful lights, and we wanted to see them.
We arrived around two-thirty in the afternoon and spent the remaining hours of daylight wandering around Matsushima, looking at stores and enjoying the sights. They didn't start letting people in to see the lights until five-thirty, so we decided to grab some food while we waited (this was, of course, after we had some of the best soft serve ice cream I have ever tried. I ordered mango, and Tati ordered wasabi--it was delicious, which is something considering I don't even like wasabi).
The lights were amazing and the atmosphere overall peaceful.
The random musician just sitting there playing. We stopped for a bit to listen to him.
