Unlike Naruse last year, the cultural festival at Yamoto First Junior High School was a two-day event. It began in the afternoon of 24 October with an opening ceremony and a talent show.
It was a lot of fun to see what the students had prepared for their talent show. Not everyone participated (I think there are just way too many students for that), but a group from each class performed. The talent shows ranged from dance numbers, to comedic skits and singing. Some, you could tell that the students really put their all into it and tried really hard, whereas others it seemed as though they were just the bravest group of their class but really didn't have an interest in taking part. It was interesting to see the different attitudes come out in the depth of the material and the energy of each individual...
After school, the students practiced for the main day of the festival, to be held on the twenty-fifth.
