Culture Festival, Day Two....

The day started with the arrival of parents and some other members of the community.  The first part of the festival was a singing competition.  First, the first years sung a song together, then each class sung the same song individually, followed by another song the class had prepared.  This repeated for the second and third years, with short breaks in between each set.

The third years were surprising.  They are really strong singers, and it was hard to determine which was the best among them.  Definitely the best performances of the school.  It was fun to listen to, though I have to say that hearing the same three songs repeated six times each became a little repetitive... Obviously.

Following that, we went into the main building for lunch, then explored the classrooms for student artwork and projects.  My favorite was the art club, as well as the home economics club..

Okay, they were my second favorite.  My absolute favorite was the Halloween party room, which I got all to myself for a moment so I could take some pictures ^.^

After exploring the school, we all convened back in the gym, where the competitors for the English and Japanese speech competitions gave their speeches, and the winners of the talent show and singing competition were announced.  Skits by the second and third years, both including videos that were absolutely hilarious, were performed.  After that, the band set up their instruments and played a variety of music that included skits by the students and sensei (selections from Little Mermaid, Totoro, etc.).  It was really funny to watch.
