The Colors....

Tati had wanted to go up to Naruko since before November had even begun, but we just could not seem to find a weekend to do so.  Everyone and everything seemed to be demanding our time, but we managed to find a Saturday where no one had laid claim to our time, so we decided to seize the opportunity.

Unfortunately, 17 November was a little bit late to go see the fall color in Naruko.  With it becoming cold quickly, most of the leaves had fallen by that time, but we still had a wonderful day.

It started before seven so we could rush and catch the train to be in Ishinomaki to meet everyone at eight-thirty.  Sean, Kolby and Armak met us at the station, and Boonan joined us at his stop further down the line.

The train ride to the first stop took about forty-five minutes, and then we had a wait for the next one.  The train we got on next was an express, so it took about twenty minutes or so less to get to Naruko, but we had to pay extra on the train itself.  Most of the seats were reserved, so we sat at the front of the train.  It was a little frustrating, I am not going to lie, but we made it there and that is all that matters.

We wandered around Naruko for about three hours, looking at all that we could see and searching for the gorge.  It was beautiful and peaceful, and the walk was really nice.  On our way back toward the train station, we stopped in several shops so Tati could look at Kokeshi (the dolls).  Creepy things, but she really likes them.

Once back near the station, we stopped at a restaurant and had lunch--it was huge!  Mine was really good.  Egg and chicken on top of rice--so yummy ^.^  Funny, because I am not such a big fan of egg.

The train ride back took a little bit longer than the one there.  Kolby was nice enough to drive us back to Tati's place, where we waited for Mike to show up.  The three of us ended up playing a video game called "Fat Princess" for the rest of the evening.

Unfortunately, I seem to be out of storage space to upload pictures, so I can not share any with you all at this time.....  =(

  1. Egg and chicken on top of rice...it must be "oyako-don" or "parent and child bowl." It is easy to make it. :-)
