Sapporo, Day Three....

I was going to post a picture of an ice sculpture here, but I absolutely love this snow one of the owls.
Sunday morning, Tati and I woke up before seven because we wanted to get out and take pictures before the crowds showed up. Further away from the main strip, but actually quite close to our second hotel, was the ice sculptures. Equally amazing, but the set up for them wasn't so great (at least in my opinion).

Since we still had time before we had to check out, and we wanted to spend as much time not lugging around our backpacks as possible, so we headed back to the main strip of the festival and got some really good pictures of the snow sculptures. The morning was beautiful, and it was nice to see them without there being a lot of people around.

Once we got our fill of pictures, we headed to the station to find a nice bakery for breakfast. Unfortunately, nothing was open, and so we ended up going to Starbucks. Did I mention it was a gorgeous morning? So nice to sit where we were, and just enjoy the sunlight coming through the window.

Made our way back to the hotel, checked out and then back to the station to figure out the bus (to the ferry) and drop our bags in a locker. Searched for the Pokemon center and finally found it after figuring out we were in the wrong part of the station.

Met up with Mike, Troy and Simon, and tried to get some lunch at a soup curry place called "yellow." It was suppose to be the best in town, but after waiting in line for an hour--and getting pretty aggravated at all the people cutting in front of us--and then learning it would be another hour's wait, we decided that it was not worth it. Especially since the time we had left was quickly running out.

Headed back to the overly crowded main strip of yuki matsuri and started looking for some omiyage. Split off from the guys and finished our shopping before heading to the station to sit for a bit. By this time our legs were exhausted and our feet were killing us (it be amazing what two days of walking will do to you).

It was an amazing trip, and neither Tati nor I were ready to leave at the end of it.
